Done!
Monday, 17 September 2007

I did the 25th install on Saturday! That means that we are done with installs for at least the winter. Now we have a bit of optimization to do on the network. Then, I'm off to a few projects that I have delayed (one of which really needs to be done by the end of the year).

Over the next few weeks we are also going to be finalizing our disaster recovery plan--deciding which scenarios are recoverable and which aren't.

And, we do have a couple of installs that are presenting their own unique challenges. On one we have apparently been picking up our signal by bouncing it off the roof of a metal pole barn that is on a hill several hundred feet away! In the last few weeks, enough trees have thicked around the signal that it isn't stable any longer so we are trying to find the best way to get the radio higher.

The other challenge is an installation that has been stable for months and now has problems whenever the wind gets above ten miles per hour! No problem with heavy rain just wind. ;-)

But what it life without a few challenges?

I hope to be back on a more regular schedule with these articles for the next weeks as we finish the final few details. After that, I'm off to the other projects.
